I came across Château de Théoule on social media and was eager to book after seeing glowing influencer posts. Sadly, the reality doesn’t live up to the curated online image. It feels like more money has been spent on influencer marketing than on refining the property itself. While the hotel is part of the Leading Hotels of the World, it doesn’t meet the usual standards — though it’s hard to say exactly why. It just feels small and unfinished. The pool area is small, and the sun loungers lack the luxury dolce vita vibe portrayed online. The private beach is nice, but loungers cost extra — with different prices depending on how close to the sea you are. The woman who checked us in seemed completely disengaged and made no effort to initiate conversation with us, which didn’t create a welcoming first impression. Our room was spacious and clean, with lovely sea views, but the curtains were thin and let in a lot of light — my mother couldn’t sleep once the sun was up. The gym was also disappointing, with dated equipment and a wobbly cross trainer. On the plus side, the location is great — right on the beach, with a bakery across the street, a small supermarket nearby, and good restaurants within walking distance. Overall, the hotel has potential but a lot of work to do if it hopes to live up to the luxury branding it promotes.

Une expérience inoubliable au restaurant Château de Théoule, sublimée par un service absolument irréprochable. Mention spéciale à Audran, notre serveur, dont le professionnalisme, la gentillesse et l’attention aux moindres détails ont rendu ce moment encore plus exceptionnel. Il a su allier élégance et convivialité tout au long du repas, avec des recommandations toujours justes et un sourire sincère. Un grand merci à lui pour avoir rendu ce déjeuner magique. Nous reviendrons sans hésiter !

Just returned from the most fabulous 2 night stay at the chateau. I am very fussy usually and was worried after reading other reviews, but everything was wonderful! The hotel is beautifully renovated with stunning views, luxurious spa and great pool area and beach. Yes you have to pay for beach sunloungers, but this was advised before check in and probably not unusual in the south of France. We stayed in a duplex room as we were 2 adults with our 7 year old daughter and the room was perfect for us. Our daughter celebrated her birthday and we really appreciated the kind note, gifts and bottle of excellent champagne waiting for us in the room on arrival. Food was great, breakfast wonderful. Service is very friendly. Special mention to Andrew in the dining room who was so friendly and attentive at breakfast and lunch, Matt and Kevin at reception who provided a very warm welcome at check in, and the female manager at reception (sorry didn’t get her name) who helped us with our restaurant reservations. We unfortunately didn’t get the chance to dine at Mareluna as we thought the evening may be too long for our 7 year old, however we did have the pleasure of meeting Chef Francesco briefly, who was charming. Despite the sunlounger and parking charges I do consider the hotel to be good value for money and definitely feels 5 star. There was a long wait for cocktails one evening but I think the bar was particularly busy that day. The only suggested improvement would be to change the dining chairs on the terrace as they are quite large and makes things a little cramped at breakfast with the tables being located very close together. . However , it’s a special place and we can’t wait to return! Thank you!

We had a wonderful stay at Chateau De Theoule. We had booked 3 rooms in the newer building all different types. The rooms were excellent with a great view of the sea. Staff were cheerful and helpful. We enjoyed the beach club, spa and restaurant during our stay. Dinner at Mareluna was wonderful didn't feel rushed, they catered to the vegetarians in the group very well. Breakfast on the terrace with the view of the water was a great way to start the day. Spa massages were great and the staff were friendly. Concierge was helpful in organizing dinners and transport both before and during the stay. We had trouble to get uber to come to the right entrance at hotel for some strange reason they kept going behind the hotel. It was great 3 days to relax and unwind.

The hotel is very nice, by the sea. Room was very comfortable. Breakfast correct, but, one morning with a staple inside granola. You servants at the breakfast were very and polite. Swimming pool without any service at all, during 2 days, towels finished nobody came to replace them. We had a bell by the chair, but was fake...AS boy can in the picture the room was not done at 6.30 pm, even after calling the reception at 3pm When you pay 1100 euros per day, in a hotel with a private beach it doesn't make any sense to pay 55 euros per person to go to the beach and a beach. This is called scamm. The same for the car park 50 euros a day. This people don't know how to handle a luxury hotel. Don t go

Nous avons été très déçus par notre moment au spa. Le personnel était impoli et absent. Lors de notre visite, un problème avec le jacuzzi s'est posé, et la femme qui s'est occupée de mon massage m'a indiqué qu'aucune solution n'était disponible, me suggérant de quitter le jacuzzi si cela ne me convenait pas, avec un ton condescendant. Pendant le massage, elle n'était pas avenante et n'a fait aucun effort pour me mettre à l'aise, comme l'accueil qui a été rapide et sans sourire, toujours de la même dame brune et jeune. Nous sommes très loin d'un service 5 étoiles.

Très belle bâtisse avec vue incroyable sur la baie de Théoule. Nous sommes venues profiter du spa pendant une après-midi. Décoration bien travaillée. Personnel aux petits soins. Petit bémol sur le spa : le lieu est vraiment très joli, mais nous avons eu affaire à une des filles du spa qui n’était pas très aimable (cheveux courts, brune et bronzée de peau) et qui nous a bien montré qu’on la dérangeait pas un sourire pour nous accueillir et nous montrer les différentes installations. J’ai moi-même eu un massage avec cette masseuse et le massage n’était pas digne du prix que nous avons payé, surtout entendre cette masseuse pousser des soupirs pendant le massage comme si cela la dérangeait. Je suis assez déçu de ma visite au spa malgré tout, le château reste un endroit magnifique.
